Our Guitar Instructors

Andrew Bowers: Andrew studied music at both Mesa Community College and Arizona State University and has preformed with the MCC guitar ensemble, the ASU guitar ensemble, and the ASU mariachi ensemble. In 2009, Andrew graduated from ASU with a Bachelors degree in Music Theory and Composition and has since been using his knowledge in the field of music to help guitar students reach their goals and potential. Teaching is a rewarding career and Andrew hopes students find as much enjoyment in playing the guitar as he does. Andrew listens to a wide range of music styles, but some of his favorite performers are: Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Chet Atkins, and David Russell. Andrew has been playing guitar since 1995. Since then, Andrew has studied and performed many styles of guitar including: Blues/Rock, Heavy Metal, Punk/Alternative, Jazz, and Classical. He welcomes all ages, ability levels and all styles. He is available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday evenings and Saturday during the day. He charges $80 per month.

Richard Carbajal: Richard has been a professional musician, songwriter, and performer for over 30 years. He has a vast knowlege of the music industry and has been involved with many different genres and groups. He is influenced by many different styles but has a passion for Blues, Brazilian, spanish flamenco, Regae, Calypso, Junkanoo and Carribean Jazz. Richard has a great, fun personality and his passion for music is contageous. His teaching style is unique, he teaches theory and technique to get you comfortable with your instrument and really understand it. He will help you develop your ear and style in your music. He is comfortable with students of all ages and ability levels. Richard is available on Thursday and Friday evenings he charges $80 per month.

Josh Martin: Josh has been playing for the last 12 years , and enjoys passing what he has learned on to others. Josh specializes in rock, alternative and blues, but is also familiar with and willing to teach many other styles of music. He has a very fun personality and often will play guitar with his drum students, or drums with his guitar students which has been very popular. He is very flexable and will help the student develop their own personal style. In a recent survey, 3 out of 4 people said they would drop a quarter if he was playing on a street corner, and he is endorsed by his mom. He is Available on Saturday and charges $65 per month.

Nic Parrish: Nic started his passion for music at the age of 7. He took private piano lessons from the ages 7 to 12. He grew up in Mississippi, moving to Arizona at the age of 12. He choose to pick up the guitar among his arrival to Arizona. He has played in a number of local bands. He has been in the position in various bands playing guitar, bass, banjo, mandolin, and piano. He is now 18 and still has a great passion for music and song writing. Nic charges $70 per month.

T.L. 'Buck' Buckner has been playing guitar since he was 15 years old but started taking it serious about 10 years ago. Buck specializes in Country, Bluegrass, Gospel, Christian and Contemporary styles of music. Buck is a current member of the Country Gospel Music Association and The Inspirational Country Music Association. He has toured all over Texas and New Mexico with his band, 'The Highways and Hedges Band'. In October of 2010, Buck was personally invited to play and perform in Branson, Mo. at the Green Mtn. Falls Resort. Though Guitar is his main instrument, he also plays Harmonica. Buck is primarily a Rhythm Guitar player, to which he adds his own little quirks to give a unique sound and style. He wants to pass on his talent to all his students to help them develop their own style and sound. Buck believes in each student as an individual. He wants each and every student to achieve their own personal goals and learn at a pace that is comfortable for them. He is available on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and charges $65 per month
